Does Georgia Medicaid cover home care? Yes — but it depends on which Medicaid program you’re in. Georgia Medicaid has special programs designed to help people get care at home instead of in a facility. The three biggest programs are:
CCSP (Community Care Services Program) — usually for seniors or people over 65
NOW-COMP (New Opportunities Waiver for Community Options) — usually for adults with physical disabilities GAPP (Georgia Autism and Mental Health/Intellectual Disability Waiver Program) — for people with autism, developmental disabilities, or mental health needs
If you’re already in one of these programs, home care can be covered. If you’re on regular Georgia Medicaid but not in one of these waivers, you might need to apply, and that process can take a few months.
